The Stables is the perfect rural retreat for your dream wedding. Our lovingly repurposed rustic Stables Barn is located on a secluded and private equestrian property, offering only an exclusive number of weddings each year and ensuring you receive the personal care and attention we are known for.
Surrounded by sprawling lawns, a spectacular lake with boathouse and jetty and framed by magnificent natural bushland, The Stables provides a multitude of stunning Ceremony, Reception and Photo locations for your special day.

The Stables is perfectly positioned within an hour of both Sydney and Newcastle CBD's and a mere 30 minutes from Terrigal and Wahroonga, making it the ideal hinterland wedding destination.
We provide the perfect canvas, allowing every couple the freedom to create their own personalised wedding celebration that will be treasured forever.
Whatever your vision, we will liaise with you throughout the planning process and can assist and advise you with our extensive wedding experience and list of exceptional Recommended Suppliers to ensure that your special day is easy to plan and everything you have imagined.
Our experienced 'On the Day' Wedding Coordinator and a detailed Run Sheet prepared for you are included for every booking, making sure you, your family and bridal party are relaxed and free to enjoy every moment of your day.

The Stables offers exclusive use of our authentic rustic Barn, expansive lawns and gorgeous outdoor Pavilion space, with both structures offering a fully insulated roof to keep you and your guests comfortable all year round! Both the Stables Barn & Pavilion are covered in flowering creepers and extensively decorated with fairy lights and festoons for a simply magical atmosphere along with a lovely Fire Pit for the cooler months.
Our Rustic Log Arbour known as ‘The Wisteria Walk’ is truly one of the most impressive aisle walks there is, providing stunning photo opportunities and a spectacular entrance on your big day.
The South Lawn overlooks our magnificent lake with rustic Boathouse and Jetty and this is just one of the many beautiful settings for magnificent wedding photos without the need to leave the property.
Our majestic Ceremony Tree, vine covered Pavilion or natural Bush ceremony space along with the Rustic Round Yard, the Stables Barn itself or anywhere else on the grounds you might choose, provide a diverse range of unique Ceremony options to perfectly suit your vision, offering flexibility and most importantly, wet weather alternatives if needed.
Stables couples also have the use of our beautifully decorated and spacious luxury Loft apartment for their wedding day preparations and romantic wedding night accommodation, complete with a fully plumbed, vintage claw foot bathtub on the private back balcony amongst the treetops.
Galbraith Park Farm Cottage has recently opened on the same property as The Stables and is available for bridal party, extended family or friends to hire and stay right next to the Venue. It offers beautifully decorated and convenient additional accommodation for up to 10 guests in addition to the Loft.
A more recent addition to the Venue is the gorgeous 'Pearl', our 1972 Vintage Horse Float Bar. She is permanently installed adjacent to our Rustic Pavilion and is now fully included for all our current and future bookings, in addition to our beautiful Vintage Bar area inside the Barn.
Our Story
At The Stables of Somersby, we’re in the business of hosting stunning weddings.
Having been lucky enough to live on this lovely property for the last 20 years raising a family and breeding horses, Louise and her family have spent years creating this beautiful rustic Barn together.
With an emphasis on using recycled and upcycled materials wherever possible whilst still offering an elegant finish, the Barn was originally built to house farm machinery, horse feed and stables and has now been lovingly repurposed into a beautiful venue space, full of rustic appeal with thought and attention given to every detail.
With a background in interiors and styling and a long history of collecting beautiful things (often rusty!), The Stables creates a warm, relaxed and stunning family atmosphere that truly reflects the love and passion that has gone in to creating it.
Since our opening in January 2018, we’ve given our couples the freedom to realise their vision, personalise their wedding day and create the day of their dreams. We provide all the support you need along the way with advice on the very best suppliers from a range of catering options, photography or celebrants, right through to florals and entertainment.
